Arrive at your bus stop several minutes before the bus is due to arrive.
The FRTA picks up and drops off passengers at designated bus stops marked with the FRTA logo.
Watch for your oncoming bus. The route number and destination is listed on the electronic signs located on the front and side of the bus. If you are not sure you are boarding the correct bus, just ask the driver.
As the bus approaches, move toward the curb; indicate to the driver you want to board the bus.
Have your ticket or exact change ready when you board. The bus operator cannot make change. If you qualify for reduced fare, please have your ID ready and show it to the driver prior to paying the fare.
Be sure to have your Statewide Access or ADA Pass available prior to boarding the bus so that you may present it to the driver. Failure to do so will require you to pay the full fare.
Once you’ve paid your fare, move quickly to your seat. Please leave the side-facing seats in the front of the bus for elders and mobility impaired passengers.
As the bus approaches your stop, pull the cord or press the plastic strip near the window. A chime will sound and a “stop requested” sign will light up at the front of the bus. The driver will stop at the next designated bus stop. Please exit quickly using the front door so new passengers are able to board the bus. For your safety, do no cross in front of the bus or walk along the side of the bus.
Etiquette and Safety
The FRTA wants all passengers to enjoy a safe and comfortable ride.
Please observe the following rules when riding the bus.
Service Animals
Service animals are allowed on the floor, at the passenger’s feet. The ADA requires the animal to be under the control of the handler and must be housebroken. FRTA may exclude any service animal (but not the rider) from vehicles or facilities when that animal’s behavior poses a direct threat to the health or safety of others.
Are all of the FRTA Buses lift equipped?
All fixed-route FRTA buses are wheelchair accessible
Bike Racks
All of our buses are also equipped with bike racks. Rack availability is offered on a first come first serve basis. Cyclists must load/unload their own bicycles. See our bicycle policy brochure for more information.
